What is International Language Testing System (IELTS)?

Introduction

Imagine yourself in a country where nobody knows the language you speak and you don’t understand a word they say? Weird right? This is the exact problem that the IELTS exam seeks to resolve.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to help you work, study or migrate to a country where English is the native language. This includes countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and USA.

What is IELTS?

An examination that is designed to test your skills in the English language and ensure that your stay and education in the country you seek to study in will be smooth and fruitful for you. It tests your ability to read, write, speak and listen in English.

When can you take the IELTS?

With a very flexible calendar, the IELTS exam can be taken anytime the candidate feels they are prepared to take the exam. We would recommend giving the IELTS test at least 7–12 months before the start date of your course/job abroad. This is because if you don’t score well in your first attempt, then you will have ample time to prepare for your second attempt without wasting any time. The IELTS score card is valid for two years.
